End of the Year Tournament

The End of the Year was a great success. We had 117 players seated and started on time. Mighty Mike and his crew did a great job and helped the event run smoothly all night. Congratulations to Valentin Atanasov for his first place finish and $350. Second place was Ronald Marin and $200. Third Place went to Ken Burley and $100. Everyone on the final table recieved $50. In order of finish they were: Sandeep Mittal, Jessica Green, John Knapp, Doug Watkins, Ben Taylor, Samir Marcos, and Laura Bachman. We should have some pictures later this week. Results - October End of Month Tournament - from November 16th
Female Firepower !
We started the October End of the Month with 98 players and ended with a Final Table of 6 Ladies and 4 Gentlemen. The Ladies show their dominance and pick off the men to make an all women Final four. Congratulations to Crystal Kelly for First Place, $300, Jessica Green for Second Place, $200, and Janet Stogdale for Third Place, $100. As usual there was Bad Beats and Great Calls but that is what makes this an exciting game. Many thanks to Mighty Mike for his Generous Upping of the Prize Pool, it was increased by $200. We had a few small problems but over all it went smoothly. Thanks to the Waitresses for keeping up to demands of the players, which was quite difficult at times. - Klop

Another Quarterly Finals in the books! We are not sure what caused the very low turn out, but those that played had a good time as always and there was some very spirited play. We want to thank those that showed up and wish to hear feed back as to why the turn out was so low. Congratulations to Sam Nathan for a big comeback to take first place and to Jen Driggers for her second place finish. Third place went to Sadia Fayaz. - Klop

Brian in a repeat !
Another successful End of the Month. It was fun for all. We had our first two time winner, Brian Affricano. He and Veena Runyan battled Heads Up for about 25 minutes. Doug Bartley played a solid game to a third place finish. With everyone gaining an understanding of the play 5 rule to be in the End of the Month tournament, I expect that we will have 60 to 70 players for September's event. Results - July Heads Up Tournament - from July 6-8th
It was a long, hard first day for our first AAPL Heads-up Tournament and for the final four players the hardest day would be Sunday. Danny Bragg and Lisa Gaddy faced off against each other on Table 1. Kyle Stokes and James Camerato faced off on Table 2. After almost 2 hours of play everyone was tied at 1 win a piece. Danny and Lisa were the first ones to finish with Lisa taking Fourth Place honors. Kyle and James battled it out a while longer with James making a late comeback to send Kyle to Third Place honors. Danny and James went back and forth. Danny taking the first game and James taking the second. The final game came down to an all-in move by James with 2 pair and Danny calling with the flopped straight. Danny’s straight became a straight flush to the king to win the Heads-up tournament. It was a great finale with 2 great hands. Thank you to everyone who participated in this tournament and be on the look out in January for the next one. The End of the Month was a great success. We had 76 people qualified and 45 showed to play. The play was outstanding as expected. First place was taken by Dustin Dudinski and second was Giri Ganeshan. Chris Lewis took third place honors. Thank you for the great play and turn out. We expect more players to qualify next month and more to show. Many players had previous commitments and that affected the turn out greatly. Everyone now knows that you must play 5 games in a month to qualify. - Klop

The May End of the Month was a huge success. We had 85 players and must apologize for a bit of disorganization, we just were not prepared for such a great turn out. Congratulation to Brian Affricano for the win and enjoy the $300 first prize. I think that a good time was had by all. This is a no-points event but I guess that the cash will do.
